AquaBeeTech Ltd. is implementing a project entitled. “Development of a device for commodity apiaries for processing multiple bee products, with a working capacity of the tank not less than 110 liters, with optimization of the honey dehydration process in terms of agitator speed, flow rate, air temperature and humidity, and honey temperature.”

The project is implemented under the measure: Innovation vouchers for SMEs, European Funds for Małopolska 2021-2027.

The project includes two tasks:

Task One: Purchase of a research and development service to develop a multifunctional device with increased capacity with a drying function in accordance with the established assumptions, together with a dedicated dehumidifier.

and

Task Two: Purchase of a pro-innovation service. Conducting an analysis of the requirements for marketing the device in the European Union market, along with conducting the required electromagnetic compatibility tests.

The aim of the project is to develop and then implement into production a new device with a dedicated air dryer for processing multiple bee products in commodity apiaries – mainly dehydration of honey, pollen and feather but also de-hydration of combs, decrystallization, creaming and clarification of honey.

AquaBeeTech’s many years of activity in the beekeeping market and constant analysis of trends showed the need to develop a 110l multifunctional device aimed at medium and larger commodity apiaries. The functionality used will enable the implementation of seven basic functions necessary in any apiary will allow the replacement of several devices with one. The purchase of a single multifunctional device has many tangible benefits: it reduces the costs associated with the purchase of several costly single-purpose devices needed for the production and processing of bee products, the device will take up less space in the workshop than several devices performing the same functions together, the compactness of the device will allow it to be easily transported and carry out work, for example, directly in the apiary.

As a result, the project will result in a new innovative product that is a multifunctional device for processing multiple bee products, with a working capacity of at least 110 liters of tank.

The project supports the goals of the European Green Deal by optimizing the resources used. The production of one multifunctional device minimizes significantly the consumption of materials and electricity relative to the production of seven separate devices. Additionally, at the end of the product’s life cycle, there will be one waste product rather than, for example, seven electro-waste products requiring costly disposal. The unit’s optimized modular design, sized to fit on a Euro pallet, will enable the unit to be transported using mass transit, thereby reducing the carbon footprint. Thanks to the modularity of the unit, in case of failure/wear, it will be possible to replace a particular component rather than the entire unit. Spare parts, in accordance with the company’s policy, will be offered for the entire life of the product.

In addition, the device will be made of materials characterized by high durability and recyclable – most elements of the device are made of acid-resistant stainless steel. In addition, the solutions used in the device being developed as part of the project are in line with the canons of Closed Circuit Economy. The implementation of the device will positively influence the optimization of used resources and will directly contribute to the reduction of environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

The target market for the device developed under the project is very broad.

Recipients of the product of the multifunctional device, due to its size, the amount of processed honey, will be mainly medium, large and the largest stationary apiaries, itinerant apiaries and production and commercial enterprises.

Total cost of the project: 238,620.00 PLN, European Funds contribution: 164,900.00 PLN.
